To my chagrin and dismay, my parents decided to purchase a PC instead of a Mac because the Mac wasn’t much more than a box with a mouse hooked up to it and the price of software for the Mac was much more affordable than the cost of a new PC. The first Macs haven’t exactly captured the public’s imagination, and the original hardware got really expensive really quick. The Apple Mac mini showed up soon after the original Mac hardware got expensive and warm reception given to it even though it didn’t exactly wow me like the original hardware did.
